Drabble #04

— "Take this fire. This is a part of my life that will boost your energy." the stranger said as she showed her flame.

She looked at the flame on the stranger wearing a black cloak. She couldn't see the whole face, but she knew that it was a woman because the stranger has long hair and a lady's hand.

Then she looked at the stranger, giving her a curious and hesitant look before asking, "Why are you giving me that? Wasn't that flame a part of you?"

"That's correct," the stranger responded. "But I want you to take a part of me because there is someone you need to save and to save him, you'd need a part of me."

To say that she was shocked was an understatement. "Why don't you save him instead? If you're the one who would save him, you wouldn't need to share a part of your life, you know?"

"That's because I have to use all of my power and my life to save another person," the stranger explained. "This academy gave us a human to protect at all cost. You need this because your power wouldn't suffice."

Her eyebrows arched when the stranger blurted out those words. "Are you calling me weak?"

"I didn't say that you're weak. I was saying that you're just new to this and since your power is still developing, you need some support."

"You say that yet here you are, assigning me a human to protect." the stranger sighed deeply. She was getting impatient, but she chose to be calm and composed.

"This is a special case. Only you can save him. No one but you, Brie," the stranger said. "Just take it and do some saving. We are running out of time." Brie hesitantly took the flame and placed her palm on her chest, feeling the warmth of the stranger's shared life.

The woman wearing the cloak started to feel weak, but she didn't show it to Brie. Both of them attended the same academy for the gods and goddesses of life. But even so, they were strangers to one another. "Please save my son before the time's up." Just like that, the woman in a cloak suddenly vanished into the thin air before Brie was able to spout another word.

Then she woke up.

Everything was just a dream, but she knew it was a warning because she is a visionary. She has rare magic. Magic where she gets signs as a warning of what's bound to happen in the future. "It was a warning," she muttered and then took a deep breath. "What exactly is going to happen?"
